How to Be As Well-Prepared As Possible for Your Retreat
Preparing for our chronic pain mushroom retreat outside Puerto Vallarta is key to ensuring you get the most out of your experience. Here are some essential guidelines and tips to help you get ready.
Substance Restrictions
For two weeks before and during the retreat, it is crucial to refrain from ingesting certain substances to ensure your safety and maximize the benefits of the retreat. Here are the rules:
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
Stimulants: Coffee, green tea, caffeine, or other stimulants.
Depressants: CBD, THC, alcohol, or other depressants.
Prescription Medications:
Antidepressants
Anti-anxiety medications
Tranquilizers
Benzodiazepines (e.g., Xanax)
Lithium
Opioids
ADHD medication
Prescription pain killers
Prescription sleeping medication (Melatonin is OK)
If you break these guidelines, we have the right to refuse your treatment, and you forfeit your investment. We are not a rehab facility and do not have the infrastructure to facilitate a detox for participants.
Dietary Recommendations
While not mandatory, we recommend following a diet rich in protein and avoiding processed foods. This can help your body and mind be in the best shape possible for the retreat. Eating clean and nourishing foods supports your overall well-being and can enhance your experience.

Importance of Learning the Exercises
Before the retreat, it’s crucial to dedicate at least six weeks to learning and practicing posture therapy exercises. Aim to familiarize yourself with three to four new exercises each week. This preparation helps build robust mental models for each exercise, which is fundamental to the success of Posturedelic Therapy. This groundwork ensures that you are not overwhelmed during the retreat and allows for a more profound and lasting impact on your chronic pain and overall well-being.
Booking Flights
You’ll want to book your flights to Puerto Vallarta Airport (PVR). Arrival time should be on the first day of the retreat, with the best time to arrive being early afternoon. Check-in time is at 2pm, and it takes about 45 minutes to get from the airport to our facility. If you have an international flight that doesn’t have a convenient arrival time, we can still pick you up 24 hours a day with our private drivers.
For departure flights, book on the last day of the retreat. Checkout is at 12:00pm, and we schedule pickups to the airport about four hours before international flight departures to accommodate for traffic or delays. This ensures you have a smooth and stress-free return journey, especially important for managing chronic pain.
If you’d like to extend your stay or arrive early to explore Sayulita or Puerto Vallarta, we can pick you up from your hotel or accommodations instead of the airport. The same applies to drop-offs on departure. This flexibility allows you to make the most of your time in this beautiful region.
Please DO NOT book any flights or accommodations before completing your registration for your retreat dates. Spaces go fast, and we want to ensure your spot is secured before you make any travel arrangements.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure you’re fully prepared for a transformative and healing experience at our retreat. We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your journey to better health and well-being.
